COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - We’ve got a final day of rain chances before we dry out and heat up for the end of the work week.

Good morning! We’ve got a final day of storm chances before we dry out and heat up. The expansive low pressure system we’ve been tracking continues to crawl up the Eastern Seaboard. There’s a few showers moving in from the Upstate this morning, with a batch of showers and storms set to redevelop during the afternoon and evening.

Similar to yesterday, we’ll have periods of dry weather, which will help highs climb into the mid-80s. Due to today’s heating, one or two strong to severe storms can’t be ruled out, which is why the Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of the Midlands under a Level 1 of 5 ‘Marginal’ risk of severe weather. If we have a strong storm, it’ll produce gusty winds and small hail.

Through the rest of the work week, we’re going to dry out and heat up! High pressure builds in across the Southeast, providing a southwest wind to usher in warmer and more moist air. This will make us humid and we’ll have high temperatures around 90 degrees.

Today: A few showers this morning with isolated showers and storms redeveloping this afternoon. Chance of rain 30%. Otherwise, a blend of clouds and sunshine. Highs in the mid-80s.

Tonight: Slight chance of rain before Midnight. Then, partly cloudy skies. Lows in the upper-60s.

Thursday: A blend of clouds and sunshine. Highs in the upper-80s.

Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the low-90s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. Highs around 90 degrees.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy skies. Slight chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. Highs in the upper-80s.
