PHOENIX (AZFamily)— Hot and breezy is the trend this weekend, as we are expected to reach 105. This is the first time temperatures have been this hot since October of last year.

Winds will be out of the southeast at 10 to 15 mph with gusts of 25 to 30 mph. Lows this weekend will hang around the upper 70s.

For Mother’s Day, maybe try to plan something indoors just to avoid the 105-degree afternoon temperatures. For those who don’t mind the heat, it will be a great day with some breezy winds at times.

We are tracking a system that will move into Arizona in the middle of the week. This will drop temps to around 100 for Monday, 90s on Tuesday, upper 80s on Wednesday, and back into the 90s to finish off the week.

In the high country, we are tracking increasing winds from Sunday through Tuesday. Monday and Tuesday could be especially windy with gusts of 45 mph possible. Temperatures will drop below normal by the middle of next week, but may increase a bit towards the end of the week.
