KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A few breaks in the clouds out there Saturday evening, but we will watch a weak system come in from the southwest into tonight, giving us a small chance at a few more light showers. With overnight temperatures dipping down near the freezing mark, a few random snowflakes could mix in. This does not look overly likely for most of us. The air is relatively dry, so the confidence to see a few pockets of light rain overnight/early Sunday is at 30%. Regardless, we will keep that chance, especially south of I-70, through 9 AM-ish Sunday morning. Then, the clouds will slowly clear throughout the day. Most of Sunday looks dry but is staying cool. Our high temperatures will at least be back in the 50s for most. The farther east/southeast you live from KC, the longer your clouds will stick around into Sunday afternoon. KC and West should get to see afternoon sunshine, and temperatures will be a few degrees warmer. Sunday’s Royals game will be cool again, but dry, with lower 50s at first pitch. We have some chilly nights ahead. Expect each morning through Tuesday to feature temperatures near/slightly below freezing. There is a Freeze Watch for Monday morning. It doesn’t look like too hard of a freeze, but it’s best to cover up sensitive plants or bring them inside. Late-week morning lows will be much warmer. More sun is expected out there on Monday and our warming trend will kick in. Still staying a bit cooler than normal with mid to upper 50s in the afternoon, but it will be a pretty nice day. The 60s are back by Tuesday! The upcoming week ahead does look much more standard for early April with many days in the 60s, and a few days up near 70 degrees. We are clear of First Warns in the next seven days. There are a few minor shower chances, however. Right now, we have a 20% chance on Wednesday and Thursday as you could see a brief stint of raindrops, but nothing impactful. Trending dry and warmer for next weekend, finally! It should be a solid week to get outdoors.
