Florida basketball coach Todd Golden expressed support for his coaching staff and said player development coach Taurean Green will remain coaching with the team after reports that a Title IX complaint was filed against Green surfaced on Thursday night.

Green was accused of sexual assault in the complaint after a UF athletic department employee alleged he forced himself upon her in an athletic department complex in March of 2024. A former point guard on UF's back-to-back national title teams in 2006 and 2007, Green joined UF as a player development coach in 2022 and was promoted to assistant coach of player development in 2023.

"I simply want to say I support my staff and would implore people not to rush to judgment based off headlines," Golden said. "I think for me I'm really just frustrated and disappointed that a Title IX mechanism that is created is protect both sides during a situation like this with confidentiality and privacy continues to be abused.

"As frustrating and as disappointing and as hard as it is to do, I'm going to do what I need to do and continue to respect the process as I have and as always continue to respect and appreciate the support for myself, my family and my program during this time."

Golden himself is also the subject of a Title IX investigation that was launched on September 27 and has yet to be completed. In the complaint, Golden is accused of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, stalking and cyberstalking.

The 39-year-old Golden said there is nothing that he and his staff have done that's ashamed him since taking over as UF's coach in March of 2022.

When asked about concerns of the perception the accusations create around the UF basketball program. Golden responded: "Obviously I don't like it, but perception, perception it's not reality and I'm in this program every single day. I see how our staff acts, I see how our players act. I'm proud of what we've done since I've been here and that's all I can do, keep my head down and keep working."
