The Florida high school football playoffs are now ready to head to state.

The FHSAA regional finals were played Friday night, as well as the rural state semifinals . Now it's on to the state semifinals, and then teams from Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and everywhere in between will gather at Pitbull Stadium in Miami to decide Florida's 2024 state champions.

Top-tier recruits and programs battled it out in Friday's regional championship round. Lakeland , the No. 1 team in USA TODAY Network - Florida rankings, took on No. 13 Tampa Bay Tech. South Florida rivals American Heritage and Norland squared off. In all, six teams played to preserve their perfect seasons, including Armwood and West Boca in Class 6A.
