In a seismic shift for college basketball, former Arkansas guard Boogie Fland has withdrawn his name from the 2025 NBA Draft and is now a prime target in the transfer portal.

The news, first reported by Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 on Tuesday night, has sparked intense speculation about the five-star freshman’s next move. with Goodman’s follow-up post hinting strongly at a Florida connection.

Fland, a McDonald’s All-American and former five-star recruit in the 2024 class, showcased his elite talent during his lone season with the Razorbacks, averaging 13.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds over 21 games while shooting 34.0% from three.

A mid-season hand injury sidelined him for a majority of the year, but his return in the NCAA Tournament reaffirmed his potential as a dynamic playmaker. Now, with his NBA aspirations on hold, Fland is poised to make an immediate impact at his next destination.

The Gators’ interest makes perfect sense. Florida, the reigning national champions, are in need of a guard to complement Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee in their backcourt.

Fland’s agent, Mike Miller—a Florida alum and former Gators star—adds fuel to the speculation, as does Florida’s reported pursuit of a playmaker.

However, other programs like the Murray State Racers, where Miller’s brother is head coach, and the Memphis Tigers, where Miller has ties, could also enter the fray.

As the transfer portal heats up, all eyes are on Fland. Could Gainesville be his next stop? Florida fans are certainly hoping so.
