The Florida Lottery announced a St. Augustine man won $1 million after buying a scratch-off ticket at Publix.

The announcement was made Wednesday, April 23.

Another $50 scratch-off ticket paid off big for a Sarasota County man less than a week ago.

The Florida Lottery announced April 18 Kyle Lindquist, 45, of Venice, bought a $50 scratch-off ticket at a Circle K and won a $25 million jackpot . He opted for the one-time, lump-sum payment of $16 million.

William Evans, 52, of St. Augustine, claimed a $1 million prize after playing the $1 million A Year for Life Spectacular scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery announced April 23.

He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000 .

Evans purchased his winning ticket at Publix, 5415 N. Oceanshore Blvd., Palm Coast. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.

The game features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life. Both of the top prizes have been won.
