Vail is No. 2 on the list and Denver is No. 15.
Forbes released its top place to visit in 2020, and as usual, Colorado's beauty, culture, and outdoor adventures make it an attractive place to vacation. The list was composed by travel influencers' and experts' picks that range from historic cities to mountain getaways to some locations that are gaining popularity with vacationers.
This is Vail and Denver's first-time on the list with Vail included as No. 2 on the list and Denver as No. 15. Fort Collins made last year's list for top places to visit in 2019.
From skiing to dog sledding, Becca Ingle, an avid family travel blogger, gave several reasons why Vail should be on the Forbes list.

"Vail, Colorado, is the perfect destination for families and travelers looking to find everything in one central spot," Ingle wrote. "Stay at the amazing Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail to be steps away from Vail Village, a popular town with heated cobblestone streets for strolling, restaurants and bars, coffee shops, ice-skating, a movie theater and a bowling alley, all within reach."
Ingle also suggested Epic Discovery as whole-family fun throughout the entire year.
Travel expert Olivia Balsinger, who has visited over 103 countries, gave a shout out to Denver as the place to visit in 2020.
"This state capital is now a destination in and of itself—in fact, 2019 welcomed a record 32 million visitors to Denver alone. In addition to its innovations in food truck culture, elaborate street art visions and its ever-growing cannabis tourism industry, Denver is also a mecca for live music," Balsinger related.
And, as we all know, Denver's proximity to a wide variety of outdoor activities, in addition to its unparalleled craft beer scene were other reasons why it's a destination that is not to be ignored.
"Of course, Denver’s proximity to nature is an enormous draw for tourists. Just minutes outside the city center are trails for hiking and running, opportunities for kayaking and even 85 miles of bike paths to test out Denver B-cycle, the city’s pioneering bike-sharing program," Balsinger added.
