After meeting with the 49ers, former Jaguars' WR Gabe Davis is reportedly meeting with a second NFC team this week.

After meeting with the San Francisco 49ers earlier in the week, former Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Gabe Davis is now scheduled to meet with the New York Giants , according to Jordan Schultz .

Davis is quite familiar with GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll from the trio's time in Buffalo together.

The 2024 season was Davis' only with the Jaguars after signing a three-year, $39 million deal last offseason, which included $24 million guaranteed.

A knee injury would limit Davis to only 10 games, and during that span, he caught just 20-of-42 passes for 239 yards at 12.0 yards per catch with two touchdowns, per PFF.

The decision to move on from Davis was primarily twofold. For one, with Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown, and Parker Washington, the best-case scenario for Davis was that he was going to be the fifth receiver on the depth chart, and that's a big contract to have on the sidelines.

Also, by moving on from Davis now, the Jaguars get a head start on getting out of his hefty deal that included $24 million guaranteed.

Davis will leave behind a total dead cap hit of $20.3 million . By the Jaguars designating him a post-June 1st release, $5.7 million of that dead cap will hit the books in 2025, and $14.6 million will be on the salary cap as dead cap in 2026.
