Former Maryland tight end Corey Dyches has flipped his commitment from Charlotte to California. He committed to the 49ers on April 11 after entering the NCAA transfer portal on Dec. 4.

"Lets Go Cal Nation," Dyches posted on social media. He will have one season of eligibility remaining for the Golden Bears.

Dyches played for Maryland for four seasons, playing in 37 games. Over his career, he recorded 107 receptions for 1,193 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns.

Dyches earned second-team All-Big honors last season. He was also named an All- Big Ten honorable mention in 2022. He led all Big Ten tight ends with 49 receptions last season and ranked third with 491 receiving yards. Dyches caught a pass in 26 consecutive games for the Terrapins.

Dyches signed with Maryland as a three-star prospect out of Oxon Hill, Maryland. He ranked as the No. 583 overall prospect and No. 20 player in Maryland, according to the On3 industry rankings .

He committed to the Terrapins over offers from Boston College, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Rutgers , and Syracuse.

The Golden Bears will be leaving the Pac-12 and joining the ACC in 2024 along with Stanford.
