A Douglas County Court judge gave no bond to a physician charged with sexual assault of a child on Thursday.

Fifty-four-year-old Travis Tierney faces felony charges of first-degree sexual assault of a child and child pornography.

A police report tied to the charge shows a parent told Omaha police this spring that the parent's son was chatting with a man online who said he was a 33-year-old named Brad. The man had sneaked into their house multiple times and had sex with the victim, the parent alleged.

Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine told KETV the victim is 12-15 years old.

Tierney was a neurosurgeon at Nebraska City's CHI Health St. Mary's from 2019 to September 2023, his LinkedIn page shows. CHI Health confirmed he has not worked there in over a year.

Since then, he's worked at Miami Neuroscience Center in Florida, according to the profile , where he's listed as a movement disorder specialist.

A week ago Thursday, a warrant was issued for Tierney.

He faces 30 years to life for the sexual assault charge and three to 50 years for the child pornography charge, Kleine said.

Tierney's preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 10.

Tierney has an active medical license in Nebraska, a search of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services records shows.
