Marco Zomphier, a former St. Louis County YMCA coach, is facing multiple sex crime charges over allegations of abuse dating back nearly a decade, as new accusations emerge from a case surfacing from 2013. Zomphier, 31, is accused of sexually abusing a then-13-year-old while serving as her coach, details from a First Alert 4 report indicate. Authorities are now urging potential additional victims to come forward, amid fears that the scope of Zomphier's predatory actions extends further than the known cases; this follows the arrest in December 2024 and the subsequent charges which include first-degree statutory rape, sodomy, and endangering the welfare of a child, among others. The charges are based on alleged incidents involving a cheerleader in Jefferson County in 2022, and an earlier case from 2013, when Zomphier was 19, involving another 13-year-old victim was brought to light after she learned of the first victim and then stepped forward, a FOX 2 Now article reveals. According to KSDK , the initial contact between Zomphier and the 2022 victim allegedly began with inappropriate messages sent via Snapchat, escalating to a rape in a Target parking lot in Arnold, an assault that supposedly ceased when Zomphier's wife began calling him. The severity of the situation is highlighted by Zomphier's admission to some of the acts as the police reported; he currently remains in custody with a substantial cash-only bond set at $250,000, following the charges of sexual contact with a student and first-degree statutory sodomy as First Alert 4 has stated.
