Florida State men's basketball (16-13, 7-11) just couldn't keep up with the second-ranked D uke Blue Devils (26-3, 17-1), falling 100-65 at the Cameron Indoor Stadium Saturday night.

This was the most points FSU allowed all season, just days after giving up 96 points to UNC. With two regular-season games remaining, FSU has lost three straight heading into Tuesday's ACC game against Virginia (14-15, 7-11).

FSU was without its starting center, Malique Ewin, after being injured on Monday against the Tar Heels. True freshman Alier Maluk made his first career start in place of the JUCO transfer.

He was held scoreless while getting into foul trouble. Jamir Watkins led FSU with 21 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.

Jerry Deng went 3 for 5 from behind the arc, scoring 12 points off the bench. FSU shot 22 for 57 from the field and 7 for 21 from 3.

Duke dominated on the offensive glass with 21 boards and 49 rebounds over FSU's 32.

Without Ewin, the Duke took advantage by scoring 46 points in the paint and 17 second-chance points. The Blue Devils also put the Seminoles on their heels with 25 fast-break points.

Even without its freshman star Cooper Flagg , who missed most of the first half after taking a blow to the face, the Blue Devils were still ahead 47-30 to end the period.

Flagg returned and scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half. He added six rebounds and four assists.

Despite missing its starting guard, Tyrese Proctor, three more Duke players stepped up and finished in double figures. Isaiah Evans was the top scorer with 19 points. Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach each dropped 14 points.

The Seminoles' game was out of reach once Duke was ahead by 30 points three minutes into the second half. Duke led the entire game.

Duke honors FSU coach Leonard Hamilton before the game

Duke paid its respects to FSU's winningest coach, Leonard Hamilton, before the start of the game as he made his last appearance in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The crowd in attendance gave him a standing ovation.

Former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski wrote a brief statement on Hamilton's retirement that the ACC Network broadcasted during the game.

"In so many ways, my dear friend Leonard Hamilton is a pioneer in our profession," Krzyzewski stated.

"While his tangible accomplishments are terrific, his impact on countless players along the way will be the greatest testament to his success. College basketball will miss him."

The North Carolina native will resign after this season. He is one win shy from his 200th ACC regular-season win, ranking him fourth all-time behind Krzyzewski and former UNC coaches Dean Smith and Roy Williams.

What's next for FSU basketball

FSU will travel to Charlottesville on Tuesday to play UVA in its final road game. Tipoff will be at 9 p.m. at the John Paul Jones Arena.

FSU's final regular season game will be against SMU (21-8, 12-6) on Saturday at the Donald L. Tucker Center. During that day, FSU will honor Hamilton in his final home game.
