(Editor's note: Here's what happened earlier Sunday when Florida State softball fell to Auburn in the Tallahassee Regional of the NCAA softball tournament.)

Florida State softball is now in survival mode. After losing to Auburn in game six of the regional final of the NCAA tournamen t, the fifth-seeded Seminoles must beat the Tigers to avoid elimination and advance to the super regional.

The Seminoles struggled at the plate in their 8-3 loss to Auburn after only recording three hits. At the same time, Auburn hit three home runs to extend the regional. Ashtyn Danley will be the starting pitcher for the Seminoles. SJ Guerin will start for Auburn.

The winner will play the winner of the Lubbock regional in the super regional. FSU is looking to advance to the super regional for three consecutive seasons. If victorious, they will host the super regional.

Similar to the earlier, FSU gets an early lead in its opening inning after senior Michaela Edenfield hits a two-run home run. FSU ended the inning with two hits and two runs.

According to Weather.com, it is expected to be partly cloudy with a one percent chance of rain. The temperature will be 93 degrees, but it will feel like 97. There will also be a 41 percent humidity and a seven-mile-per-hour wind.
