(Editor's note: Here's what happened earlier Sunday when Florida State softball fell to Auburn in the Tallahassee Regional of the NCAA softball tournament.) Florida State softball is now in survival mode. After losing to Auburn in game six of the regional final of the NCAA tournamen t, the fifth-seeded Seminoles must beat the Tigers to avoid elimination and advance to the super regional. The Seminoles struggled at the plate in their 8-3 loss to Auburn after only recording three hits. At the same time, Auburn hit three home runs to extend the regional. Ashtyn Danley will be the starting pitcher for the Seminoles. SJ Guerin will start for Auburn. The winner will play the winner of the Lubbock regional in the super regional. FSU is looking to advance to the super regional for three consecutive seasons. If victorious, they will host the super regional.
