Dew Tour will be returning to Breck, December 14-17. Featuring some of the best skiers and snowboarders in the world, the heat is on!
One of the best things about Colorado in the wintertime is all the amazing snow-sport competitions that play out through the season. The Dew Tour, presented by Mountain Dew and Ten: The Enthusiast Network, and held in Breckenridge, is back for the 10th year in a row. The weekend-long event aims to bring out the world's best men and women snowboarders and free-skiers to compete to qualify for the 23rd Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in February. https://youtu.be/oBUCAXaHTtA The event will serve as a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Olympic qualifying event for men's and women's halfpipe and slopesyle snowboarding and skiing competitions, along with the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix series. After a successful run in 2014, it was a natural choice to partner with Dew Tour once again to be a part of our Olympic selection events... Both the Dew Tour and Toyota U.S. Grand Prix are committed to putting on a world class event for all athletes and presenting out sports ahead of the 2018 Games." -- Tiger Shaw, President and CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. In addition to individual competitions, the Team Challenge will include the 12 biggest winter gear brands (six ski and six snowboard) competing in a way that celebrates the winter sport community. Each brand will select one team captain and three of their team athletes to compete against one another.
The overall goal of the weekend event, aside from having a ton of fun, is for these athletes to bust out their very best. Combining the official qualifier and the team challenges, the entire weekend is expected to bring tons of high-flying action for spectators to ooh and ahh at -- as well as scope out what will be to come for the 2018 Winter Olympics. The Dew Tour Team, along with the brilliant minds behind Breckenridge's unique courses, will allow these athletes to showcase their skills to their fullest.
