Times really are a-changin.' Now faculty and students at George Mason University can have robots deliver food!

George Mason University (GMU) has definitely stepped up their cafeteria game past regular meal plans. Robots -- yes, robots -- will rove over the campus to deliver food to the students and faculty! Talk about easy and convenient (I'm a little bit jealous that my college didn't think of this idea)!

According to The Washington Post, GMU in Fairfax, Virginia, received 25 of these autonomous robots from an Estonian robotics company called Starship Technologies, and they're the first college campus in the country to do something like this that involves using delivery robots as a part of a student dining plan.

These little robots can hold up to 20 pounds of food each and travel at four miles per hour, which makes life so much easier because all you have to do is order your food and wait for it to be delivered in 15 minutes or less, I hear. And all the while, you can continue on with your daily life -- whether that involves studying, grading, or even doing your laundry -- and not worry about a grumbling stomach interrupting your progress. Each delivery only costs $1.99.

So, don't be surprised if you see these little buggers rolling around while you're heading somewhere on campus -- they've got a job to do!
