Clear your calendar for July 8 and embrace your inner child, because you’ll get your fill of happiness at this year’s oh-so-bubbly and colorful Bubble Parade in Baltimore.
Mary from Uncustomary is the brains behind this unique event happening on Ssunday, July 8, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. She will lead bubble enthusiasts of all ages starting at the skate park in Hampden, located at West 36th Street and Falls Road. The parade will take about an hour, moving at a leisurely pace to allow plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the sight as thousands of bubbles fill the summer air.
The theme of this year’s bubble parade is “Colors & Bubbles.” So dig out those neon green shirts, yellow polka-dotted skirts, and purple wigs! It's simply the best excuse to dress in all the colors of the rainbow for the day!
Participants are encouraged to bring their own bubble supplies, like bubble guns. I can’t imagine blowing bubbles for an hour without passing out, so any automated bubble blowing machines are welcome. Mary will have some supplies on hand for those unable to bring their own.
This is a family-friendly event, which includes your four-legged family members. Dress up your pupster in a colorful bandana and bring them along, because I’ve searched “dogs and bubbles” on YouTube … HOURS of entertainment!
And when you're taking those fun selfies and artsy bubble shots, don't forget to share them on social media! #bubbleparade #bubbleparadebaltimore #uncustomarylove
If you can’t make it out to the parade, but would like to donate bubble supplies, you can certainly do so as well. Just click here to see the event's Facebook page, where you can also find more information about the bubble parade.
The route for the parade is as follows: start at West 36th Street and Falls Road (diagonally across from the 7-11 convenience store); go down 36th Street to Beech Street; to 40th Street; to 41st Street; to Buena Vista Avenue; and finally end on 36th Street at the starting point. Please find street parking, and do not park in the 7-11 parking lot.
The host, Uncustomary, is a refreshingly positive site that encourages self love and creativity. "Uncustomary’s positivity shines through everything she does. She encourages everyone to love themselves for who they are, while reminding them that they never peak, they only constantly improve. She spreads love all over the world, through the internet, the postal system, and the streets."
