Come out and celebrate Mother’s Day with friends, family and fellow community members at this year’s DC Bike Ride with fun, food and entertainment.
The DC Bike ride is a not to be missed fun community event, a 20-mile ride complemented by food, fun and entertainment. Participants of the event get to experience the city’s most stunning and awe inspiring sights along the National Mall. The course provides views of the memorials and monuments up close and concludes within steps of the US Capitol Building. The DC Bike Ride is the city’s only car-free and closed-road bike ride, so participants have the roads all to themselves as they wind their way through the city streets on an epic journey.
There will also be great entertainment along the ride. At the 2.5 mile mark in Hains Point, the Eastern Senior High School Drumline will be providing musical entertainment; at Ohio Drive and Potomac Freeway at the 5.5 and 7.5 mile marks riders will experience the sounds of the DuPont Brass Band; Red Bull MXT DJ cranks tunes at the 15 mile mark at the 14th street bridge, and Batala plays at the 18 mile mark along Maine Avenue Southwest. The Finish Festival begins at 9:30 a.m., when local spin master l DJ Sudge will kick things off. From 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the party band Jeff From Accounting will provide the musical entertainment, and closer and hip hop legend Biz Markie will DJ from 11:30 a. m. to 1:00 p.m. There also will be a post-ride Yoga Session at 10:30 a.m. hosted by KIND Healthy Snacks and the owner of YogaVibez Edgewater and sunriseSUP Kate Grove.
