West Central Area hosts either Brandon-Evansville or Ortonville on Thursday, Parkers Prairie and Ashby begin playoffs on the road



The West Central Area girls basketball team (20-6) is the No. 2 seed in the south sub-section of the Section 6A Tournament and it has an opening round bye.

Brandon-Evansville (9-17) is the No. 7 seed in Section 6A-South and hosts the No. 10 seed Ortonville (0-26) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

WCA hosts the winner of the B-E/Ortonville game at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The winner of Thursday’s game between WCA, Brandon-Evansville, or Ortonville plays either the No. 3 seed Hancock (20-6) or the No. 6 seed Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley (11-15) in the sub-section semifinals at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Minnewaska High School.

Parkers Prairie (16-10) is the No. 5 seed in the sub-section and plays at the No. 4 seed Wheaton-Herman-Norcross (15-11) at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Wheaton.

Ashby (3-22) is the No. 9 seed in the sub-section and plays at the No. 8 seed Benson (6-20). The winner of the Ashby/Benson game plays at the No. 1 seed in the sub-section, Breckenridge (21-5), at 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The winner of the Parkers Prairie/WHN game plays either Ashby, Benson, or Breckenridge in the sub-section semifinals at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Minnewaska High School.

The sub-section final is at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4 at Minnewaska High School.

Hillcrest Lutheran Academy (22-4) is the No. 1 seed in the north sub-section while Underwood (21-5) is the No. 2 seed, New York Mills (20-6) is the No. 3 seed, Park Christian (17-9) is the No. 4 seed, and Lake Park-Audubon (17-9) is the No. 5 seed. Ada-Borup-West (13-11) is the No. 6 seed in the north sub-section, Rothsay (10-16) is the No. 7 seed, Battle Lake (5-19) is the No. 8 seed, Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdahl (3-23) is the No. 9 seed, and Henning (3-23) is the No. 10 seed.

The Section 6A Championship game is at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the Concordia Fieldhouse in Moorhead.
