The Glenstone Contemporary Art Museum of Potomac is undergoing a large-scale expansion, which is expected to be completed by October 4.
Glenstone Museum, a contemporary art museum located in Potomac, has just recently revealed that a major expansion is now underway and it's set to be completed by October 4. The expansion, designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners, will make the museum an even better place to visit and perhaps the best DMV contemporary art museum outside of D.C. An additional 204,000-square-foot building will complement the original 30,000-square-foot space, helping to house more exhibitions and art collections. The project also includes the expansion of the grounds by adding 130 acres on top of its 100. [caption id="attachment_8273" align="aligncenter" width="960"]
Additionally, the landscape expansion will essentially be a makeover, reflecting modern aesthetics and housing outdoor sculptures that will only add to the beauty of the space. Within the Pavilions building expansion, an additional 13 gallery spaces will be added and become home to various artworks by artists as well as temporary exhibitions.
Whether you're an art lover, or you simply appreciate the creative output of talented artists, Glenstone is a great place to visit. Plus, it's free! If you're itching to visit the museum before October, its next exhibition is scheduled to open in May and will remain open until September. But, after that, Glenstone will remain closed during September and won't reopen until October 4.
