Donations are being asked to help with the boy's baby sister's college fund.
Ty will never have the chance to see his one-year-old baby sister grow up. He will never have the chance to see her graduate from high school and head off to college. He will never have the chance to live a remarkable life of his own.
Last Saturday, Lone Tree Police Department (LTPD) sent a team of officers to the Contour 39 Apartments (9045 Yosemite Street) for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found a man and boy dead inside. That boy was 10-year-old Ty. And the man has been identified as Ty's father, 48-year-old Anthony Tesoriero.
The LTPD released the following media statement regarding the death of Ty and Antony Tesoriero:
"On Saturday, Sept. 21 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Lone Tree Police Department (LTPD) responded to a welfare check at the Contour 39 Apartments, located at 9045 Yosemite St., where they found an adult male and a juvenile male deceased inside the apartment. The Douglas County Coroner’s Office identified the adult male as 48-year-old Anthony Tesoriero. Autopsies have been completed on both individuals, but no further information will be released as to the cause and manner of death until the investigation is complete and the final autopsy reports are made available. LTPD, however, is currently investigating this as a murder-suicide and does not believe there is any threat to the public."
The murder-suicide occurred less than 24 hours after Jing and Anthony Tesoriero appeared in court for a custody hearing, where Jing was awarded full custody of her son, according to reports.
This custody battle had been on-going for 15 months. In May 2018, Jing's lawyer, Caroline Cooley, alerted police and the court system that "Anthony has been wrongfully keeping the minor child for the last 56 days."
Cooley requested a criminal investigation be conducted on Anthony, stating, "There has been an ongoing pattern of mental abuse by the father with the minor child." According to Cooley, she had requested "multiple times" for the Department of Human Services to re-open the case, but her requests were rejected.
*This is an on-going investigation and updates will be made as more information is released.*
A GoFundMe page has been set up on behalf of Jing Tesoriero, Ty's mother, by friends and family:
Recently an amazing woman and mother, Jing, lost her young son Ty in the most horrific way imaginable. Now she and her husband Doug are not only grieving their loss, but also raising an incredible one year old daughter who will never know her brother. Victim services has graciously offered to help with funeral costs, so we would like to help raise money for a college fund for Ty’s baby sister, who will grow up not knowing her amazing brother. Any help during this time of immense need is greatly appreciated, donations, large or small, are sincerely welcomed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Positive thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and loving energy are also very much appreciated ❤️

We at OCN are shocked and saddened by this news and offer our condolences to Ty's family and friends.
