While the Golden fire is still burning, crews are making progress containing it.

Fire crews working to put out the Golden fire are hoping that favorable wind conditions will continue as they battle the now 66-acre blaze. The fire started late Thursday afternoon near the Coors Brewery in Golden. By Friday afternoon the fire was 50 percent contained. 25 different fire agencies have sent a combined 68 firefighters to the fire on South Table Mountain. While no structures are threatened at this time, if the wind shifts west the fire could threaten homes in the area.
