Blanche, Rose, Dorothy and Sophia are bringing their "Golden Girls" magic to the stage in Baltimore — with a big twist.

While they're still Miami's sassiest seniors, the actors for these iconic women might not be who you expect.

Adam Graber, who plays Rose, and Vince Kelley, who plays Blanche, have brought the characters to life on stages across the country for three years.

"I like Blanche because she doesn't take herself too seriously and she kind of rolls with the punches and goes with the flow and likes to have a good time," Kelley told 11 News.

While Rose has a reputation for being ditzy or naïve, it might be rubbing off on Graber.

Graber started to say, "She might not be the quickest tool in the shed, but that's not a phrase," before Kelley said, "That's a very Rose thing to say."

"Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue" first hit the stage in Baltimore and has since returned this weekend to the Hippodrome Theatre.

"Really, we were only contracted for one show, and we came here and the audiences in Baltimore literally have put this show where it is today," Kelley told 11 News.

After more than 300 shows across more than 35 states, there's still plenty of cheesecake to go around, and fans of the show will recognize many of the iconic throwbacks.

"Audiences in Baltimore literally have put this show where it is today."

"Sophia has 'Picture it in Sicily.' Rose has 'Back in St. Olaf.' And I like that Blanche's catchphrase is sort of an insult; it really feels more true to me. So, Blanche says, 'Eat dirt and die, trash.'"

"Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue" brings the classic characters into current times. Graber told 11 News it has the feel of a long-lost episode that never made it to air.

"Stay thirsty. Tip your bartender. Have a good time," Graber said.

There are two showtimes on Saturday at the Hippodrome. Get tickets online here .
