Maryland just reopened their golf courses, and golfers are lining up to tee off.
While we are all safer at home, our recreational options just got a little greener. All across the state, golf courses reopened last week, and golfers couldn't be happier. Over the weekend, club managers have been able to gauge demand and tweak course regulations accordingly.

Each course and driving range is responsible for enacting proper cleaning and social distancing measures. Bring a mask or face covering with you in case a staff member asks you to don one. It will be a requirement to enter most shops and clubhouses.
You can expect major changes if you do sign up for a tee time, too. For example, on Montgomery County courses, the following rules apply:
- Tee times must be reserved online and pre-paid.
- No cash or credit card transactions will occur on-site.
- Golf carts are limited to single riders or a maximum of two family members only.
- Expect less of a crowd with tee times set 12 minutes apart.
- You must contact the golf shop beforehand to put a credit card on file if you expect to make purchases.
Be on the safe side and consult your preferred course's website before you get out your golf bag. Rules are always subject to change as more and more businesses combine re-opening with proper social distancing measures.
