Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Kimberly Posey, Ph.D., and Regina Franklin to the Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee and reappointed Carla Smith. Their terms will end on February 1, 2031. The committee advises the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services on licensure sanctions and rule changes for the Nursing Facility Administrator Licensing Program, according to the Office of the Texas Governor . Posey, from Trophy Club, is a gerontology expert with degrees from Texas Woman’s University, The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Christian University, and William Carey University. The Office of the Texas Governor states that she is an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner and the director of Graduate Nursing at Texas Christian University. She is also a member of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association and Texas Nurse Practitioners. Franklin, from Bedford, is the director of Long-Term Care Administration at Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus. She holds degrees from Wichita State University, Texas Woman’s University, and the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and is involved in healthcare and aging associations. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated - Alpha Xi Omega Chapter. Smith, from Midland, has over 20 years of experience at Southwestern Bell Telephone and is active in Christian ministry and nonprofit volunteer work. Both will contribute to the committee’s advisory efforts, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor .
