A violent confrontation in the Central West End escalated into gunfire yesterday morning, leaving three people injured and one shooter in custody. The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. on the parking lot of the Walgreens store located at 4200 block of Lindell, according to a report from St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department .

The preliminary investigation describes a skirmish involving a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man. Attempting to interrupt the fight, a sister of the 21-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, discharged a firearm into the fray, striking the intervening 22-year-old woman and both men. Arrested at the scene, the 19-year-old was taken into custody unscathed, and the firearm was seized by police.

The conditions of the injured parties, initially listed as stable, prompted transport to a local hospital for treatment. As details emerge, the investigation by District 5 officers continues to unfold, seeking to understand the dynamics that led to this violent exchange. The identities of those involved have not been disclosed beyond their ages and genders.
