HAMILTON — A walk-off walk ends the Columbia Falls baseball dream of third place at the All-Class State Baseball Tournament Saturday.

Brady DeMoss held off in a 3-2 count and drew a seven-pitch free pass to bring in the winning run for Hamilton in the ninth inning of a loser-out game.

In the championship game, Billings Central held off a late Belgrade charge to win 4-3 and finish off a title winning season in their inaugural year.

Jett Pitts put the Wildcats on the board first with a fourth inning double that scored Brady Matson to make it 1-0.

In the fifth, Hamilton (17-3) answered back with a single from Boedy Tadvick to cap off a three-run inning and put the Broncs ahead 3-1.

Jory Hill tied the game in the sixth with a single to left that brought Matson home again and forced extra innings after a scoreless seventh.

After another scoreless inning, Hamilton drew three walks to load the bases, bringing up DeMoss.

Jude Widmer threw six innings for the Broncs, allowing five hits and three runs. He fanned three. Connor Quinn earned the win with three shutout innings in relief. He struck out two.

Zeke Dunn threw five innings and struck out nine for the Wildcats. He allowed three earned runs on five hits.

The Wildcats finish 18-3 on the year.

The Rams scored four runs in the first inning thanks to an error, a two-RBI groundout and a single from Brendan Warn to take the early lead and their pitching shut Belgrade down for most of the game.

Oliver Prill went four innings, not allowing a hit and striking out one. Howie Martin continued the no-hitter into the seventh as he closed out the game. In the end Martin gave up two hits and three runs.

Belgrade needed a rally in the seventh and they nearly got it as an RBI groundout made it 4-1.

Sawyer Olson came to the plate with two outs and the bases loaded and lined one into centerfield bringing in two to make it 4-3, but Cade Thomas was caught trying to get to third to end the game.

All it took was one inning for Skyview to seize control over host Hamilton. A nine-run second inning put the Falcons ahead for good 9-2 in the third-place game.

The highlight, a three-run double from Brady Baker that put Skyview up 8-2.

Hamilton didn’t go down easy though, putting up runs in the fourth and fifth innings before a two-run single from Hunter Harness helped the Broncs put up three in the sixth to make it 9-7.

Luke Slyker shut down any comeback hopes in the seventh to send Skyview to a third-place finish.

Payton Cicero came to the plate with runners on the corners and two outs but harmlessly flied out to center to end the game as Billings Skyview downed crosstown rival Billings West in a loser out game.

Skyview led 4-3 heading into the seventh inning and quickly extended it as Connor Smith hit a two-run homer to left field to make it 6-3.

West (18-3) answered in the bottom of the inning with a Chase Wise single that drove in one, followed by a sacrifice fly to make it 6-5. Cicero had a chance to tie or take the lead, but popped out to center to end the game.

Smith went six innings on the mound for the Falcons, allowing three runs on two hits and fanning four.
