Apparently, lemonade stands are still a thing, and Cartier put his to good use.
Hampton, Virginia, resident Cartier Carey noticed that one of the many impacts from the COVID pandemic has been a short supply of diapers and other items parents need for their babies. So, in July, the 11-year-old started a lemonade stand with the sole intent of raising money to help others. Not only that, but he also founded a nonprofit organization, Kids 4 Change 757, to keep the mission going. His family and community have pulled together to collect diapers, wipes, and other essential baby items for parents in need during the pandemic.
Over the summer, the lemonade stand was complete with other essential snacks and also doubled as a drop off for actual diapers to be included in the donation. They set up a diaper distribution in their neighborhood and filled a truck with boxes of diapers to be donated.
Now that summer is over and Cartier is back to virtual learning, it might be harder to find the stand set up, but donations can still be made the organization through Cash App ($Kids4Change757), Venmo (@Kids4Change757), and GoFundMe.
To date, Kids 4 Change 757 has donated over 22,000 diapers.

In his interview with ABC News, Cartier explains his inspiration for the project and his reaction to the touching moment when a stranger who witnessed what he was doing was moved to tears by his actions. He goes on to encourage others with the simple statement: “Others can make a difference just like I'm doing right now. They can save lives and be heroes, they're never too young."
The thoughtfulness of an 11-year-old has already helped so many—and with the aid of his family and community, as well as a newfound awareness on social media, he aims to help so many more.
