Brush up on your spells, we'll be traveling back to Hogwarts soon enough!

Just in time for the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Warner Brothers and HBO Max announced a reunion special that will premiere on January 1 and feature the original cast!

It has been confirmed that Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint will be a part of the special, which will also feature director Christopher Columbus and other surprise guests. Of course, the brothers Warner can't resist dropping further details to drum up excitement and have also promised appearances by Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and Ian Hart.

HBO Max is no stranger to reunions. After the success of reconnecting casts in their The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Friends specials, recently promoted Tom Ascheim has promised  "a tribute to everyone whose lives were touched by this cultural phenomenon" in the announcement. Sets are to be recreated and serve as the backdrop for new interviews and cast conversations to give fans a look into the making of arguably one of pop culture's biggest hits.

After the premiere on January 1, the reunion will be broadcast in the spring of 2022 on TBS and Cartoon Network in preparation for the theatrical release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

Noticeably missing from the reunion lineup is author, J.K. Rowling. The official reason given is that the special will be focused on the films rather than the books—which, okay, fair enough. Also, let's all continue to pretend there hasn't been any controversy surrounding the once-beloved children's author in recent times.

Regardless, the special promises to be very exciting for all fans of the series both new and old. If you really can't wait to get your fill of 20th-anniversary goodness, be sure to check out WizardingWorld.com for a ton of features, including quizzes, trivia, and more!
