Boardwalk Rock Festival is facing a major lineup change.
Headliner Mötley Crüe will no longer be in attendance. As a result, Alice in Chains has been added to the lineup. Boardwalk Rock shared the news online on Wednesday, April 3.
The inaugural music festival, set to celebrate all things rock and roll, is coming to the resort town of Ocean City, Maryland, from May 17-18, 2025, on the historic Boardwalk.
"Mötley Crüe will be unable to perform at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Md., on May 17 as Vince Neil is recuperating after a required medical procedure advised by his doctors. Vince's health comes first, and we fully support him in prioritizing his recovery. Please join us in wishing him well.
"We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the show and appreciate your understanding. Our friend Alice in Chains are confirmed to take our place on May 17 and we are immensely grateful to them for stepping up and bringing their awesome show to Boardwalk Rock.
"Thank you to all the Crüeheads for your continued support. We can't wait for Vince to fully recuperate and to be back on stage again soon."
Over the span of his four-decade-long career, Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil has undergone countless surgeries. The specific nature of Neil's most recent required medical procedure has not been disclosed.
Rock and roll royalty Def Leppard and Alice in Chains — in place of Mötley Crüe — will headline on Saturday, May 17, along with Halestorm, Bush, Chevelle, Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm, The Struts, Extreme, Everclear, Puddle of Mudd, Trapt, Kat Von D, Royale Lynn and Mammoth WVH.
Then, headliners Nickelback and Shinedown will rock the house on Sunday, May 18, alongside of big music names Three Days Grace, Alice Cooper, 3 Doors Down, Bret Michaels, Candlebox, Night Ranger, Crossfade, Dorothy, Black Stone Cherry, Tim Montana, Fuel, Saliva and Lit.
