COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - After a hot and humid afternoon to start the work week, we’re watching for an isolated storm or two to arrive this evening. Good morning! Heat and humidity sticks around for the start of the work week. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy this afternoon, with high temperatures around 90 degrees. We’re going to closely watch a complex of thunderstorms that has formed near the Tennessee River Valley. If its able to hold together into the Carolinas, this would be the source of isolated thunderstorms this evening. One or two of these storms will be capable of producing gusty winds and hail as they arrive into the Western Midlands. Above-average heat will continue through the middle of this week. Another cold front rolls through Wednesday, bringing an isolated storm chance. After it passes, temperatures will drop for the end of this week and the Memorial Day weekend. Today: Partly cloudy with an isolated thunderstorm or two later in the day. Chance of rain 30%. Highs near 90 degrees. Tonight: One or two leftover storms early in the evening, then mostly cloudy overnight. Chance of rain 30%. Lows around 70 degrees. Tuesday: Partly cloudy skies.
