The Point Break Festival will bring together a mix of rock and reggae bands this summer for its second year at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, including headliners Slightly Stoopid and Stick Figure. The festival will feature more than 20 bands over two weekend days, with doors opening at noon and live concerts beginning at 1 p.m. June 21 and 22. Miles Doughty, lead singer for Slightly Stoopid, is already feeling excited about the show. “Virginia Beach, they know how to party,” Doughty said in an interview. “Like, they bring me energy every single time. So I feel, like, if anyone’s on the fence about going, just get down there and you’re going to have a great time with the people.” Slightly Stoopid describes its distinct sound as a blend of rock, reggae, acoustic soul, hip-hop, heavy metal and punk rock. The band has been making music and touring the country for 30 years. Co-headliner Stick Figure’s last four albums have hit No. 1 on the Billboard reggae charts.
