Kick off the summer season with a rocking lineup of blues rock, improv, and more at the Strathmore in June.

Summer is upon us, which means concerts and shows are heating up venues all across the DMV. AMP, one of the Strathmore's adjoining venues, offers diverse performances in a hip urban environment, located in the North Bethesda neighborhood Pike & Rose. Next month, the performance space will be offering up a variety of entertainment – from blues and jazz to comedy cabaret. Make some room on your calendar – you won't want to miss these!

Here's what's going on at the Strathmore next month:

Darrell Scott

Hailing from the Twin Cities, Davina & The Vagabonds will be swinging through town, Friday, June 7. Their sound, which combines blues and jazz with a modern flair, is charmingly infectious and conjures an older era of American songwriting. A little Billie Holiday with a touch of Janis, Davina Sowers' smoky voice is sure to raise you to your feet. Tickets are $17.50-$37.50, which you can snag here.

If you're looking for some laughs, go Off the Top! with Jason Kravits! Known for his appearances on Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Practice, Kravits will create a life story out of thin air with the help of his backing band and audience participation. Take part in the creation of characters and stories as they come to life in real time! The Rockville native will perform on Saturday, June 8, and tickets are $25-$45. You can order them here.
