Team to watch
This is a little bit of a quantity vs. quality debate. Cedar Rapids is stacked with 10 Top 30 prospects, led by 2024 first-rounder Culpepper and the ultra-toolsy Winokur . Wichita has only four, but that group is topped by Jenkins -- one of the top prospects in the game -- who is primed for a huge, healthy season. Maybe just plan a trip to the Midwest and hit both spots?

Players we could see in MLB in 2025
If Rodriguez can stay healthy, it’s not hard to imagine him hitting his way to the big leagues; same with Keaschall, especially as he puts Tommy John surgery further in his rearview . Bold prediction is that Jenkins performs so well, he moves from Wichita to St. Paul to the highest level before the year is over.

New faces
The Twins took Hill, the Texas high school left-hander, in the Competitive Balance Round B in 2024 and went over slot to sign him for $2 million. He’ll make his pro debut with Fort Myers this season. Leon was the Twins’ prize international signee in January, getting $1.7 million. He’ll get his career started in the Dominican Summer League. Carpenter, an over-slot 11th-round signing out of the junior college ranks in 2024, will join Hill on the Mighty Mussels’ pitching staff.

On the shelf
Culpepper isn’t officially on an injured list, but had a hard time ramping up this spring, so he’s a bit behind in getting ready for the year. Eeles had minor offseason knee surgery to fix a cartilage issue, so he’s beginning the year on the Triple-A injured list.
