BALTIMORE, MD — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested a Honduran national previously convicted of a sex offense in Maryland , officials announced.

Kelvin Emanuel Granados-Sorto, 30, was taken into ICE custody on April 11 after being transferred by the Maryland Department of Corrections, ICE stated in a press release. He had been convicted of a third-degree sex offense by the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County on May 12, 2023, and sentenced to 10 years in prison.

ICE said Granados entered the United States at an unknown time and location without inspection or parole by immigration authorities. Following his conviction, ICE lodged an immigration detainer against him on July 12, 2023.

An immigration judge ordered Granados removed to Honduras on October 24, 2023. He remains in ICE custody pending deportation.

“This arrest sends a clear message: when jurisdictions cooperate with ICE, communities are safer,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Baltimore Acting Field Office Director Nikita Baker.
