Sooo ... can we take Hostess seriously after this?

Um ... so ... yeah. Peanut Butter and Pickle Sandwich Twinkies?!

I've heard of a lot of strange foods—carrot cake Oreos ...Tabasco chocolate ... people thinking wasabi was just green ice cream ... but this phenomena? I don't know if I want to gag or applaud for such a mind-boggling idea.

Like, what would that even taste like exactly? Salty? Chunky? Sweet and bitter, or bittersweet? I wouldn't be opposed to trying out such a treat, although I think I'd have to be bribed a lot of stinkin' money to do it!

Any hands raised for those who would give this a shot?

The Twitter account for Hostess definitely had audiences guessing with this post from September 2019:

In fact, they were so convincing that one user wrote:

"This is what happens when Hostess does bath salts."

The baking company later confirmed the post was a bit of a joke, with a Hostess spokesperson even saying,

"This is just some social media levity from Hostess. We regularly feature fun, fictional products on our social media, and this is one of those."

They aren't kidding. Check out this tweet from November:

Even so, we can't help but wonder if they ever truly would release Peanut Butter and Pickle Sandwich Twinkies. After all, they did distribute Moonberry Twinkies last year.

Hostess, one of the most well-known snack bakeries in the USA, has released several lines of iconic goodies over the years, like Hostess Cupcakes, Sno Balls, Zingers, Ho Hos, and, of course, Twinkies! Despite the fact their social media crew does seem to enjoy having fun with what they show to followers, the sweet company has actually released strange desserts before (Glo Balls Sno Balls, Tiger Tails, and the aforementioned Moonberry Twinkies). So who knows what they have up their sleeve?

Do you think you'd try a Peanut Butter and Pickle Sandwich Twinkie if they ever released one—or any of Hostess's other strange foods? Comment below!

Hi! I've lived in the NOVA region most of my life, repping our sports' teams, finding unique and cozy coffee shops to indulge in, and exploring nature hikes I've never visited. I used to live under the mountains in Roanoke, VA as well as a handful of beaches in NC, but good ol' Northern VA had always called me back! I write novels for fun (currently working on a fantasy series that won't have a terrible ending like Game of Thrones, right?), and enjoy reading and diving into new experiences that help me grow.
