From July 8-9, you have the chance to attend the Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park weekend. And no, you did not read that wrong.
The Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art in the Park are coming to Steamboat Springs for a fun-filled weekend! From July 8-9, you'll have the chance to watch as the balloons lift to the skies and engage in friendly competition as the pilots try to dip the balloon baskets into Bald Eagle Lake. The weekend sees more than 10,000 people a year, and that number is only expected to grow! If you're a budding photographer, or if you simply love art and enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery, then this is the perfect event for you. [gallery size="large" ids="18399,18397,18396"] As soon as the balloons launch into the air at 6 a.m. each morning, you can grab some breakfast from one of the local vendors and let your kids have some fun in the kid's zone. And just a few minutes away from the hot air balloons sits the Art in the Park event. More than 150 artists and vendors, as well as live music, will be waiting for you!
On Saturday, July 8, at approximately 8:15 p.m., watch as the balloons glow and light up against Mount Werner. At the base of the Steamboat Ski Area, you'll have the perfect view of the balloons, so bring your camp chairs and watch from the mountain slopes.
