36th Annual Celebrate Fairfax Festival is set to go down during the second week of June and will feature numerous local bands and entertainment, as well nationally known performers. Tens of thousands of festival goers are expected to attend as have in years past. Multiple stages and more than 300 food vendors, exhibitors and interactive activities will be part of the festivities, the 3 day festival has something for everyone in a jam packed schedule that can keep anybody entertained and amused the whole day through.
Diverse activities and Major Headliners
While Celebrate Fairfax is in its 36
th year, many people outside of Northern Virgina don't even know of this fun filled weekend. The 25 acre site will host everything from local and big name Rock bands to a petting zoo in the Innovation Children’s Avenue and the Fairfax Karaoke championship, as well as great food and carnival rides. Each night of the 3 day festival will feature nightly fireworks everyone can enjoy. Headliners are scheduled to perform on The Bud Light stage, this year’s festival musical headliners are Bush and Everclear, both famous 90’s alternative rock bands that were popular names in their heyday.
Celebrate Fairfax is a fair and festival
Celebrate Fairfax is a cross between a music festival and county fair, bringing together the best of both worlds. Visitors get an interactive experience rather than just a county fair or music festival. In the past, national headlining performers have included 3 Doors down, the B-52’s and Third Eye Blind whose songs you can still hear on the radio today. Anyone who appreciates good bands and all the fun of carnivals and festivals really ought to checkout Celebrate Fairfax. Tickets are dirt cheap; one day adult passes are only $10 and kids are $4, and weekend 3 day passes can be purchased for just $18. Not bad prices, considering Celebrate Fairfax is a recipient of the International Festivals and Events association’s Bronze Pinnacle Award for its longstanding success and quality entertainment. The festival has also earned a position in the top twenty events in the Southeastern U.S and just last year was voted the Best of Nova’s Kid-Friendly Festivals.
Lots to choose from
In all, Celebrate Fairfax has seven stage areas with entertainment ranging from the rock headliners to ballet and karate performances, demonstrations to a Comedy Hypnotist, and Dueling Dj’s in a dance party environment called Silent Disco. If the music is too loud, numerous fine art displays at the Emerging Artist showcase are a nice alternative, while others may find the Donut Eating contest fun to watch. The music is more than just rock bands; visitors can expect to see Blues, Rock, Reggae, Country, Funk-Soul and more during each of the three days. The event promises to be a really good time.
