The Kansas City Chiefs' newest star DeAndre Hopkins appeared to tease his move to the Super Bowl champions three days ago - with a reference to one of his new teammates' superstar girlfriend.

Hopkins has switched Tennessee for Kansas City in a move that will bolster the Chiefs' options at wide receiver, but it appears he may have had an inkling it was happening before most others.

In a post to his Instagram on Sunday, Hopkins posted a series of cryptic clues, the most obvious of which showing a video of his family singing Taylor Swift 's 22 in the back of his car.

In another snap, Hopkins can be seen dragging his luggage onto a flight, leading to fans speculating that he knew a trade was on the horizon.

Swift is, of course, girlfriend to the Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce , and is a regular VIP guest at the team's games, both at Arrowhead and on the road.

In response to Hopkins' Instagram post, a few fans quickly got the hint, with one writing on Sunday: 'Kansas City?'

One other fan said: 'DHop listening to T Swift = DHop to Chiefs.'

The predictions have now proven correct, with Hopkins set to play with Patrick Mahomes, Kelce and Co on the Chiefs' tilt for a third straight Super Bowl.

Their receiver room was already decimated thanks to Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown's shoulder problem, while JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a hamstring injury in last week's win over the San Francisco 49ers .

Hopkins is in the final year of the $26million, two-year contract contract he signed with the Titans in the summer of 2023.The former Texans and Cardinals star has had an illustrious career, being selected for the Pro Bowl on five occasions.

Hopkins has 943 receptions during his career and has scored 79 touchdowns across 174 games.

The Titans are receiving a fifth-round draft pick from the Chiefs that could become a fourth-rounder if certain conditions are met.

The Chiefs are due to take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in an AFC West showdown.
