The Detroit Tigers begin a weekend set against Major League Baseball’s two Pennsylvania teams in Florida on Saturday, as they are set to host the Philadelphia Phillies. The Tigers had a fairly good start to the Spring Training season, as they kicked things off by beating the Phillies and New York Yankees before suffering their first loss of the preseason when they fell to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. Prior to facing the Phillies for the second time in Grapefruit League play, Detroit will have faced the Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Rays, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. The Tigers will also visit Bradenton on Sunday to take on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Philadelphia had an adverse start to its Spring Training schedule. After losing to the Tigers, the team fell to the O’s on Sunday. Yet, the Phillies picked up a win on Tuesday against the Rays. Philly will host the Yankees and Red Sox before coming to Lakeland.
