TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — It’s the happiest season of all, and this week, many Idaho families will head out in search of the perfect Christmas tree. To keep the season merry and bright, AAA is offering some tips to safely get your tree home.

“In previous AAA research, 60% of respondents had a tree fall off or out of their vehicle before,” says AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde. “To borrow from a popular song, when you tie down your tree, make sure you check it twice.”

“If you do have a tree that extends out of the truck bed or vehicle, you want to make sure it’s good and secure, but you also want to flag the end of it,” says Conde. “Put something bright back there so people can know where that tree starts and ends.”
