Clemson and Virginia Tech are set to meet on the diamond for the first time the 2023 conference tournament.

The Clemson Tigers are in Durham today for the start of the 2025 ACC Baseball Championship.

The Tigers (41-15 overall, 18-12 ACC), ranked No. 12 in this week's USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll , are the No. 5 seed in the ACC's tournament and will face the Virginia Tech Hokies at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in North Carolina. Clemson and Virginia Tech didn't meet in the regular season. The Tigers will be seeing the Hokies for the first time on the diamond in almost two years.

Clemson defeated Virginia Tech, 14-5, in its first game at the 2023 ACC Tournament in Durham. That was when the Tigers were in the midst of a 17-game winning streak that led to the ACC championship and a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament in coach Erik Bakich's first season.

More recently, Bakich's team closed the 2025 regular season with a three-game sweep of the Pitt Panthers . Clemson outscored Pitt, 30-9, while on the mound, right-hander Aidan Knaak threw 7 1/3 innings in a no-hitter in Thursday's opener . Joe Allen and Lucas Mahlstedt combined for the final five outs to polish off the 15th no-hitter in school history and the first since 2009.

Virginia Tech defeated Stanford, 7-4, on Day 1 of the ACC Tournament on Tuesday. The Hokies ended the regular season at 30-24 overall and 12-18 in conference play, finishing 12th in the ACC standings . Starting pitchers for today's game were not announced as of Tuesday evening.
