CHICAGO -- Two of the biggest stars in the NHL get set to battle it out on Wednesday night in the Windy City, as Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers visit Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks. It’s always exciting when you get to see two generational talents square off in a marquee matchup. McDavid has been the torch-bearer for the last several years, while Bedard is still evolving with the rebuilding Original Six team. The Oilers are in the second half of a back-to-back as they visited the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night. After a rough start to the 2024-25 season, Edmonton has righted the ship and rocketed up the standings. They come into Wednesday first in the Pacific Division, two points ahead of the Vegas Golden Knights. As mentioned earlier, things could be a little bit better for the Blackhawks. Injuries and lackluster play have kept the team at the bottom of the league standings once again. With just two wins in their last 10 games, Chicago is last in the Central Division, and just one point ahead of the San Jose Sharks for the worst record in the NHL.
