The opening month of MLB Spring Training action continues on Wednesday for the Detroit Tigers. On Wednesday afternoon, they get set to take on an American League Central rival, the Minnesota Twins, in Grapefruit League action. The Tigers are coming off their first preseason loss of the season. In taking on the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, Kerry Carpenter and Riely Greene each had solid starts, with Carpenter going 3-for-3, while Riley Greene went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. However, the Tigers gave up four runs in the eighth inning, leading to an 8-7 loss. Detroit had won its first two Spring Training games, beating the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees before suffering defeat on Tuesday. The Twins are coming off a victory on Tuesday, outlasting the Yankees in a 5-4 decision on their home field. Minnesota began their preseason with a 3-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves this past Saturday before losing to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.
