SLOAN, Iowa (KTIV) - According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, those who travel or plan to travel on Interstate 29 near Sloan should be aware of an upcoming ramp closure. Exit 127 at Sloan, Iowa on I-29 will be undergoing a ramp paving project that could slow down your trip. The southbound on-ramp and the northbound off-ramp at Iowa 141 (exit 127) at Sloan will be closed beginning at noon on Monday, Oct. 21. The ramps will reopen at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, weather permitting. The Iowa DOT wants to remind motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limits and other signs in the work area and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow plenty of space between vehicles and wear seatbelts.
