It took less than an hour for immigration agents to move Tufts University student Rümeysa Öztürk to New Hampshire after sweeping her off a street near the Somerville campus last week.

When her attorney filed a petition for her release hours later, Öztürk was more than 150 miles away in Vermont, en route to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office.
