Highway 82, over Independence Pass, is set to close at 7 p.m.

'Tis the season for the snow to hit the high country. And meteorologists are predicting a storm with accumulation for Friday night through Sunday. Independence Pass will close on Friday, November 13, at 7 p.m. Until that time, the pass is open to traffic. Please use caution as conditions are still snow-packed and icy.

Independence Pass is a stretch of Highway 82 connecting Aspen, Colorado, and Twin Peaks, Colorado. It is a stunning drive known for its local birds, wildlife, wildflowers, and rocky splendor.
