Indiana football received its highest-rated commitment in the 2025 recruiting class to date when four-star cornerback Chris McCorkle chose the Hoosiers over offers from Florida, Iowa and Kansas, among others. The 6-foot-1, 172-pound McCorkle, from Sarasota, Florida, is the No. 247 player in the country, per 247 Sports, and the 26th-ranked corner. If he signs with Indiana, he would be the 10th national top 250 player to do so with the Hoosiers in the recruiting rankings era (since about 2000), joining stars like Dasan McCullough, Donaven McCulley and Darius Latham. During his junior high school season, McCorkle picked off eight passes, broke up eight and made 24 total tackles. On offense, he was a big-play threat at receiver, catching 13 passes for 366 yards (28.2 yards per reception) and seven touchdowns. With the addition of McCorkle, Indiana's first full recruiting class under coach Curt Cignetti has eight commitments and ranks No. 27 nationally, according to 247 Sports. The 2022 class, the best of former coach Tom Allen's tenure, ranked 30th.
