This Sunday marks the kickoff of the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup in its revamped format. The tournament will open with a match between Inter Miami and Al Ahly. In this article, Metaratings.ru outlines the full match schedule, David Beckham’s squad, and the odds bookmakers are offering on Inter Miami’s performance in the Club World Cup.

Inter Miami at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup — Tournament Overview

The 2025 Club World Cup will be held in the United States from June 15 to July 13.

The main innovation is the tournament format. Previously considered a friendly-like competition held at the end of the year between continental champions, the new version now includes 32 teams and mimics the format of the FIFA World Cup with a group stage followed by knockout rounds.

Inter Miami received a special invitation from FIFA to participate, as announced by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in October 2024. David Beckham’s club was granted the only host nation slot. This makes Inter Miami’s appearance in the Club World Cup its debut in international intercontinental tournaments.

The second American team to participate is Los Angeles FC, which qualified via a play-in victory over Club América of Mexico.

Inter Miami Squad for the 2025 Club World Cup

Aside from injured players, most of Inter Miami’s main squad is expected to take part in the Club World Cup.

There is some doubt over Jordi Alba’s participation after an injury in an MLS match against CF Montréal, and it’s unclear whether he’ll be fit in time.

Goalkeeping is another concern: Drake Callender has been sidelined since April, and his replacement Óscar Ustari also picked up an injury against Columbus Crew. That leaves 23-year-old Rocco Ríos Novo as the only fully fit keeper available.
