The Colorado Rockies have clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2009. Rocktober, here we come!

In the end, 87 wins was all the Colorado Rockies needed to carry them into the National League Wild Card Game. And for the first time in eight years, Colorado will get to experience a taste of Rocktober! The team will face the Arizona Diamondbacks (93-69) in a one-game playoff event on Wednesday, October 4, at 6 p.m. at Chase Field. The game will air on TBS. The last time the Rockies appeared in the playoffs was in 2009, when they ultimately lost to the Philadelphia Phillies three games to one after going 92-70 in the regular season. Before that, they made it all the way to the World Series in 2007, spinning the city of Denver into a frenzy of Rockies fever before being swept by the Boston Red Sox in heartbreaking defeat. The only other playoff appearance in the team's 25-year history occurred in 1995, with the Atlanta Braves coming out on top 3-1.
So is this our year? This is the Rockies' second time to face the Diamondbacks in the playoffs. Last time, we swept them on our way to the 2007 World Series. If we win on Wednesday night, we'll face the Los Angeles Dodgers (who just beat us on Sunday) in the next round of National League Division playoffs. What do you think? Will the Rockies lead us into another hardcore Rocktober like they did in 2007 and 2009? What do they need to do to pull it off? We want to hear your thoughts in the comments below! And go Rockies!
